FareWell Blog-II :(

Hi all,

It was really tough for me to live without my old friends after joining an MNC.
The First One week was like hell, thinking abt the new atmosphere. Took some
time to make new friends, remembering those good old days(College Sickness),
The good thing is that even Zaphod started watching BLEACH :) beastu is settled
in IISC-B, Hijake, Vizgoth flew to US to pursue their higher studies, Zaphod
preparing to enter a prestigious Organization. DD, Murt marking their presence
in reputed MNC's.

hope that all SNISTians Do well in which ever field they chose.

Missing U all,

Rocky.

Farewell Blog!!

A lot many things have changed these few years, for instance zaphod 'can' sport a real beard now, beashtu finally realized his dream of becoming 200 pounds and Mr curd now eats other things too...
but not all things change....hijake is still chased by dogs when he rides his bike, i still get nightmares of snist and murt is still trying to find a way to tell something to a certain someone.

talking of change...even snist has changed a lot...mostly for the better.
however even with these amazing changes snist has managed to retain a bit of its old flavour... for instance a 'dress code'( this is spelt as roflmao by other college guys) was proposed recently by the director.(ya the same guy who wears sandals over socks while in a safari suit)
i dont know how this is going to benefit...but may be its just a stratergy. if the dress code is implemented...the guys will just have to work harder, to not flunk, since nobody wants to wear that prescribed shit for a extra year.

anyways i am glad i am done with snist and wont be visiting it anytime in the near future.
and speaking about the blog....these few years we had great time writing stuff, which i am sure will bring back the bitter sweet memories...when we read it in the future.
today 24th july incidentally is the 2nd anniversary of blog.
so HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLOG!!!!
but in this moment of happiness i also feel little sad since i wont be writing again about snist in this blog anymore.
all good things must come to an end and its the same with the blog...will miss it though :(

well thats it then,
farewell snist. farewell blog.

mirror mirror on the wall WTF was that

4 years of struggle, 1357 days of waiting, 8820 hours of torture....and now its finally over!

The last day of our college was 2nd may 2007(i like the words 'last day of college'), and man what a day that was! We had a farewell organized by the department...a farewell unlike any other.

It started off this way - Morpheus addressed us as friends and went on to stress on why he addressed us that way, this was followed by tonnes on laughter and wise cracks everywhere. While this was going on someone was constantly shouting 'abbey AC on karo re'. meanwhile students were asked to come and tell about their experiences in SNIST and a few people went and spoke.
Immediately after that PG started off with 'you should have only one child...blah blah blah'.We were like WTF, is he going to talk about con**ms and other things next. But then the real shock of our lives came when our very own vuk(ya the same old guy who always goes...you seeeeeeee...but then you seeee againnnnnnn) started telling, he doesn't agree with PG and we should have 100's of children. by the time he said this half the girls had fainted and half the guys became immobile out of sheer shock and a few other were ready to go touch his feet. The rest of the time was spent in bringing order in the auditorium(vuk later told that he considers all those whom he taught as children) .

Finally Morpheus came and spoke something for little over an eon and finally said 'i wont take too much of your time' after this it was time for the thank you note. However due to the heroics of one dude, this was transformed into a anger venting session...where everyone was pointing fingers at each other as to who was the bigger asshole.(this was the time we made a silent exit, but according to our sources this was finally decided with a rock paper scissors and a freeforall wrestling and Morpheus won(not so surprisingly(actually the result was decided even before anything started(isn't this a bit too deep?)))).
and thus the eventful day ended.Overall it was more of lectures and less of partying.(but what more can we expect of SNIST...a mongolian funeral is more lively than a rock show in snist)
hey but who cares! we are free!
i survived snist!

Do you know what time it is!?

Well, as I'm writing this, the clock on the wall here shows 3:33 AM.
This, surprisingly, might or might not be the right time...Apparently there is a theory that states : "The time you are at depends upon the relative motion of light around you and whether or not you are eating lunch."

The theory goes on to explain how time, speed, gravity, mass, light and lunch are all inter-related and even states a bold but simple equation.

T = ( 4*(3.14) * g * l * c + 42) / ( M * r/2)

T is the relative time you are at, to be added to or subtracted from the Time zone you are living in/ate lunch at, depending upon the sign of the resultant term.

3.14 is pi. It has to be present in every self-respected scientist's equation.

'g' is the gravitational constant of the planent you ate lunch at. For example, if you dined at the quadri-cuisine restaurant at Gittejiche, a planet at the far end of the nebula, 'g' will take a value of '-36.23'.

'l' is the 'chow-dependent universal constant' = 34.5 for Indian food,
= 21.3 for Mexican food,
= 11.6 for Chinese food
= -143.02 if you ate at MacDonalds,
= -21323.50 if you ate at KFC.

'c' is the speed of light.

'42' is the answer.

'M' is the mass of the person in question before eating lunch. (For the female sex, it is calculated after eating lunch. This is one point that is not covered in great detail, but has something to do with the fact that females talk more than they eat. Yeah, I didn't get it either.)

'r' is the number of items in the menu, or the number of people eating, if there exists no menu.

[end-of-theorem]

Ah well. Wow! Now the clock says 3:49 AM. Where did all the time go? Oh yeah, I ate at MacDonalds yesterday. No wonder!

Buckethead rocks. I've been listening to him all day long. Beautiful music.
And at times like this(yes, early morning times) it sounds wonderful.
Can't believe he likes KFC though.

A couple of updates on the college front :

.End-project. The final viva was today. No presentation. As hijake was saying, '200 marks in 7 minutes! What the fuck!!!'
Unbelievably, he over-estimated the time. Most batches were inside the interview/viva room for less than two minutes. Beastu and I managed to talk for an entire half minute before we were asked to leave. So 200 marks in 2 minutes! I'm at a loss for words.
Everything just reinstates my absolute confidence in the fact that the system is flawed and cannot improve. Nothing matters anymore though! We are finished. The end. Goodbye college. Good riddance. Hasta La Vista. Sayonara. Adieu. Farewell. Toodle-oo. Thanks for nothing.

Ah. That felt good.

.Exams in one week or so.
We know nothing, but what the heck! We never learnt anything in college anyway.

4:00 AM now. I'm intermittently reading up on some weird stuff off wikipedia. What an amazing concept Wikipedia is. Whoever would have thought a free-for-all-to-edit encyclopedia would revolutionize learning(and provide material for desperate project-report writers)!

I just thought of something...Since the four of us will be leaving college this year, we'd like to post a few guest posts here about the current college students' experiences. (Preferably from CSE students It'll be nice to carry this on as a tradition. But others are welcome here as well!)
How about it? It'll be nice to see a few fresh faces here as well. (And, of course, to read the few extra comments that might come in then.)
So, anyone interested, please leave a blog link or profile link here. And a link to sample posts. We will, of course, pick only the best!

We'll upload a few photos of us pretty soon. Next month, maybe. And some of college and farewells and final exams too if we can!

Oh well, I'd better kip now, before people start waking up.
Ta.

Fake Nostalgia

Two days of college + Two exams. That is all!

This is unbelievable. All of a sudden, with no warning, we are done with college.

I'm pretty sure I'm expected to feel nostalgic, with fond remembrances of people and situations and place and lecturers...well, maybe not lecturers, but the rest?

No sentimentality? No slush? No tear-jerking farewells and goodbyes?

I've been trying to publish a post here for a long time now, but I just haven't managed to come up with anything decent. The problem is, out of the two classes per day, two days per week, 'x' weeks this semester, we have all managed to attend, maybe, a total of 20 classes. That doesn't leave us with enough 'fond memories' to write about. I've only been thrown out of class once, this semester. Not one dire warning of "You will fail this subject". Zero sports and games. Zero carroms and table tennis. No fooling around in college wasting time.

Well, probably the best semester of all time. Not coming to college does that to you I suppose.

Project work was a very enlightening experience. I now know I don't want to work in IT.
In case you are curious, all of us did manage to do legitimate projects. Under good companies.
We are a bunch of smart students, after all.

I'm completely out of things to write about.
Let the rambling begin.

. Wikipedia has a new entry on SNIST
. The famous clock tower is still as elusive as ever. (rumour has it that the first person to spot it will attain nirvana and complete attendance.)
. We have a three day fest this time. Sports-cum-Annual day-cum-Cult. fest. It is called sprishti or something. Something that starts with an 'S' anyway.
. Vox populi still exists. I'm shocked.
. We have a principal. Again, I'm shocked.
. No more classes. Whoa!
. College finally building a new basketball court. After 6 years of promising. (How do I know? Our seniors say their seniors told them) It should be ready for the 2014 batch.
. More construction. More Air-Conditioners. (Though, I have a feeling the A.C's are fake. Probably hollow, and made with papier-mache.) The canteen is finally not open-air. Juniors, let us celebrate this day.
. The football ground is still the same. Buses still struggle to park there.
. Football matches are still played on "neutral venues". Osmania grounds, to be precise.
. No more classes! (I know, I just love saying it!)
. Everyone talking about "Where do you see yourself 10 years from now". Us astoundingly humourous(in our eyes only!) bloggers keep talking about "prison", "on the streets", "off the streets", "in college", "dead".
. The famous SNIST movie is finally uploaded here. Scroll down a bit to find it. If you haven't seen it, I strongly recommend a comfortable chair, a strong drink, a barf-bag and an empty
room.
. Dinner time is now.

That Famous Man

Cast -GRT, Mir, KaPaK, RIA (rod in ahem), TFM (That famous man)

Setting - CSE block corridor.

GRT, Mir and KaPaK were enjoying a cup of well deserved tea and loafing around on a bench in the corridor, when RIA and TFM enter the scene in a typical Tall-thin /Short-fat combination.

RIA: What is this? Do you people have no manners?
GRT: Huh?
RIA: Common, stand up and show some respect for the faculty!!
Mir: Huh?
RIA: What the HELL!!! (almost breaks down)

Sensing the man's agitation, the three stand up, wondering who these two were.

RIA: Who are you people and why are sitting here??
GRT: Errmm..we are students from the final year.
RIA: So?
GRT: Ermm...so?
RIA: So why are you sitting here?
TFM: (Deciding that he wanted some action too) Luckily there were benches, or else these idiots would be on the wall.
Mir: I think we would be in the canteen.
RIA: Dont act smart, do you know who we are?

At this point, the smart and usually quiet KaPaK notices that RIA is holding a pink book of somekind and realizes that its an attendace register. He points the same to the other two.

GRT: Ermm...I know who you are, you are a lecturer cos you are holding an attendance register, but whos this other guy? (gestures at TFM)

TFM suffers a near coronary and tries to throw himself off the building. Ok, maybe not, but I'm sure he must be atleast contemplating to do so.

RIA: (red faced)..err...guys, hes the principal of this college.

So, the tall-thin-short-fat duet walk away, leaving the three protagonists trying hard to recall the principal's face.

Murt walks into the scene and points at the duet thats walkin away and asks "Who're they???"

So, you guys can expect some billboards and posters of That Famous Man to dorn the walls of our college. Poor guys desperately needs some publicity :P
